The true alchemists do not change lead into gold; they change the world into words.
William H. Gass
Hullo! I’m Christy, and this blog was born out of procrastination from IB revision. I review books, take photos, and make whatever I fancy into an essay prompt. Thank you for stopping by!
Where’s home?
I’m Hong Kong born and bred, though I’ve also lived in England for a few years. 🇭🇰
So do you speak Chinese?
I speak Cantonese, Mandarin, English and French. I’d also tried (and failed) to learn Latin, Japanese and Korean. 🙃
Tea or coffee?
Both!
Cats or dogs?
Also both, but I’m the human of only one dog, a pseudo-Pomeranian called Opal.
Favourite books?
Tough call. Right now, my top five are Circe by Madeline Miller, Love in a Fallen City (傾城之戀) by Eileen Chang, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell, and The Mysterious Benedict Society series by Trenton Lee Stewart.
What else do you do besides blogging?
I’m a medical student in Hong Kong!
