The true alchemists do not change lead into gold; they change the world into words. – William H. Gass
Hello! I’m Christy, and this blog was born out of procrastination from IB revision. I review books, take photos, and make whatever I fancy into an essay prompt. Thank you for stopping by!
I’m Hong Kong born and bred, though I also lived in England for a few years. 🇭🇰
So do you speak Chinese?
I speak Cantonese, Mandarin, English and French. I tried (and failed) to learn Latin and Korean, but I’ll be starting Russian this coming autumn!
Tea or coffee?
Cats or dogs?
Also both, but I’m the human of only one dog, a pseudo-Pomeranian called Opal.
Right now, my top five are North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty, the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo and always, always, the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Check out my Goodreads!
3 Idiots (Bollywood), 我少女的時候/Our Times (Taiwanese), Singin’ in the Rain, The Lion King, Mulan and Cinderella (2015).
What else do you do besides blogging?
I’m a medical student in Hong Kong, but for the coming academic year I’ll be studying in the States!
